Current Positions

Jan-Oliver Schmidt is Senior Vice President and Member of the Board of Stahlschmidt Incorporated, a privately held management services, investment and asset management company with activities dating back to its inception in Toronto, Canada in 1983.  Its origins in the international trading of metals, minerals and energy as well as subsequent tailored supply chain management, structured trade finance and consulting engagements have influenced the Company’s current investment portfolio. Mr. Schmidt oversees its information management, internet and online solutions sector and is also responsible for all matters involving shipping, transportation and logistics.

Schmidt has over 18 years of diversified experience both in general corporate management as well as in the international shipping, logistics and supply chain management arena. He continued his career path within the THL group with extended postings in Spain, Syria, Lebanon, and Singapore.

As THL was merged into the larger ABX LOGISTICS group (now DSV group), Schmidt continued to assume positions of ever-increasing responsibility with roles in country management in Malaysia as well as regional corporate product management roles in Asia-Pacific and, ultimately, in North America.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Huron University College in Canada, Schmidt is a member of the World Affairs Council, the German American Chamber of Commerce, and the Economic Roundtable of the German Consulate General in Houston, Texas.
